My Story

Hello, my name is Nathan. I created Legally Bourbon as a place to share my passion for whiskey (mainly bourbon) with the world. From its scientific creation process, history, and depth of flavors, whiskey is truly a fascinating and unique creation. I hope you enjoy my insights into an industry and product that I have come to love and admire. Here is a little information about me and this website.

Why “Legally?”

I chose “Legally” as the first word of my title website for two reasons. First, whiskey (especially bourbon) has some of the world’s most stringent laws governing what can be labeled as whiskey. Second, I am an attorney and I love a good lawyer joke.

Why “Bourbon?”

Bourbon Whiskey is what first captivated my interests and introduced me to whiskey. Its sweet soft friendly flavors make it my favorite spirit. Additionally, it is the United States’ (my country) only native spirit. Hence, I admittedly take a little patriotic pride in sharing one of the gifts my nation has to offer the world. As such, my reviews will mostly concern bourbons, but occasionally I might venture into the land of Scotch Whiskey, Irish Whiskey, rye whiskey, etc.

About Me

I am an American Attorney that enjoys drinking and sharing whiskey with family, friends, associates, or really anyone for that matter. I am also a Certified Bourbon Steward. I do not work for any company, organization, or individual in the whiskey industry. I maintain this website as a fun side project in my spare time.
